KenPunt

Privacy policy

KenPunt publishes college football ratings. The ratings endpoint at /mcp is a public, read-only way to ask for those same ratings. There is no KenPunt account for that endpoint.

Data collected

A tool call sends only the arguments needed for that question: a season, a week, a preseason flag, the model (srs or epa), a division, a team name or id, a conference name, a game date, a start date, an end date, a limit, and, for a hypothetical matchup, which team is home and whether the site is neutral. KenPunt does not receive a ChatGPT or Claude account, name, email, or the conversation the question came from.

The server keeps the connecting network address in memory for about a minute so it can enforce a rate limit. When ChatGPT or Claude calls the endpoint, that address belongs to that service, not to the person's device. The server also counts the tool name, whether the call succeeded, and how long it took. Those counters stay in the running process. They are not a profile.

The footer of the website asks for an email address only if a person wants notes. KenPunt then stores that address, when it was added, and whether notes should still be sent.

What the tools return

The answer is sent back to the client that called the tool. It can include a stored rating, rank, record, season history, rankings list, a day's games, a team schedule, conference standings, or upcoming games. A matchup can include a stored final score and the pregame projection already computed for that game. Each figure is marked as an observation, a prediction, or a preseason prior. A figure that is not stored is left blank. Answers include links to kenpunt.com. The projection is computed from KenPunt's stored ratings. The query is not sent to another data service to produce it.

Purposes

KenPunt uses a tool call to return the ratings or schedule that were asked for, to refuse a request it cannot answer, and to limit repeated calls. It uses the short-lived counts to operate the service. It uses an email address only to send the notes that person requested, and to record an unsubscribe or a spam complaint.

Recipients

The client that made the call, such as ChatGPT or Claude, receives the answer so it can show it. Vercel hosts the site and the endpoint and may keep its own request logs. Neon hosts the database of games and ratings. That database does not store a tool caller's identity. Klaviyo receives an email address only when a person subscribes to notes. KenPunt does not sell this information and does not send a tool call to any other ratings service.

Retention

The rate-limit address expires after about a minute. A successful answer may be cached in the process for about two minutes so a repeated question does not hit the database again. The cache holds ratings, not an account, and it is discarded when the process restarts. The in-process counts are discarded then too. An email address is kept until the person unsubscribes. Vercel and Neon keep their own logs for their own retention periods. KenPunt does not make a separate copy of those logs.

Your choices

Using the endpoint is optional. Disconnecting the plugin, or not calling it, stops new tool calls. There is no KenPunt profile to correct or delete for those calls, because none is created. A person who subscribed to notes can unsubscribe from a note, or by writing to hello@kenpunt.com. The same address is the place to ask what this policy covers.
